Sekino arrived on January 17, 1907, on the S.S. Korea. Robert was one of nine children in the Kuroda family: brothers Hisao Mishima, Mineso Daniel, Donald Haruyuki, Ronald Haruto, Wallace Haruso, Joseph Toshiyuki, and sisters Tsuneko Lucille, Toshie Betty. The oldest son, Hisao Mishima, was born in Puunene, Maui, on January 25, 1908, to
