Thomas Tokuyoshi Miyamoto
a deep-sea fisherman. In 1920, the family lived on Kalihikai Road in the Wanini area of Hanalei. By 1930, he had died and his widow had married Takemashita Sato, a rice farmer. They lived in Hanalei with her sons James and William. Thomas was living in Honolulu where he attended Central Intermediate School. By 1940,
