Curtis M. Noborikawa

S/SGT Curtis Masao Noborikawa, Company K, 442nd RCT

Curtis Masao Noborikawa was born November 24, 1924 in Koloa, Kauai, Hawaii to Doso and Ushi Noborikawa, both originally from Japan.

His draft card indicates he worked for the Kamehameha Garment Company in Honolulu, and his enlistment record indicates that he worked as a driver.

He enlisted March 24, 1943 and was assigned to Company K, 442nd RCT. In 1944, he was sent to Italy to fight and was wounded by machine gun fire at Hill 140.

While recovering from his wounds, Curtis met Helen Takatani at a dance for wounded soldiers. They married in 1952 and had two daughters and a son. He became a ground traffic controller at Hickam Air Force base and retired in 1984, after 36 years.
